Corie Mapp - Team GB

"My name is Corie Mapp. I compete for Great Britain in Para Bobsleigh and I am ranked #2 in the world. I also compete for GB in Sitting Volleyball. I have been training with Anna for just under a year now and have seen a marked difference in my body, strength, physical and mental conditioning. 

I suffered double amputations below the knee in 2010 while serving in Afghanistan. Since then, sport has made a significant difference in my life. I wanted to achieve better results in my chosen fields and that's when I came across Anna. I had no core, had major balance issues and hardly any muscular or cardiovascular endurance. Anna stripped me down to the bare basics and started to rebuild everything that I was lacking. 

She made a programme which consisted of exercises that targeted my balance and core issues first, while maintaining and improving on the strength that I already possessed. She also introduced me to Olympic lifting and plyometrics training which for an amputee is very difficult. As a result, I as a double amp can now train like my able bodied counterparts do! She is a very passionate lady about what she does and has made me the athlete I am today. I'm proud to have her as my S & C coach and look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in the future!"

Barnes Yorke-Davies - Aspiring ATHLETE

"My name is Barnes Yorke-Davies and I’m a wakeboarder from the Cotswolds.  I’ve been wakeboarding for 6 years now and I still love it just as much as when I first started out. 
In the last couple of years, I have started competing and came 4th in the Wakeboard Boat Nationals in 2016. I have also made the podium in a few other competitions including 1st at the South Coast Wake Park stop of the Grass Roots tour and 2nd at the WMski stop.

For the last year I have been training on the water and just as hard off the water. I’ve started training with Anna and I’m really enjoying it because it’s a different way of training which is fun and also effective. Anna has helped me push myself to reach new personal records and also perform exercises without any joint pain. We are working on fixing on my imbalances and building my strength ready for the next wakeboard season to begin. We have been working a lot on corrective and mobility exercises and I have noticed I feel a lot stronger now when performing lifts.

I’m really looking forward to this season thanks to Anna and the training she’s been doing with me and hope to get a few more podiums this year. "

"Since working with Anna my overall strength and fitness have improved massively. I’m a personal trainer and always look for new ways to challenge myself!

Anna has completely changed my training for the better! The attention to detail she puts into every session is brilliant, she is totally focused on form which means you will never do an incorrect exercise. I was a little bored of my same old routine so asked Anna to help with my strength and conditioning. We focus on deadlifts, squats, clean and jerk and explosive exercises. This has given me a better physique and a much better understanding of this kind of training.

"Anna did a great job of explaining basic principles of building muscle and losing fat. Many of us have the goal of achieving a great physique, but there is just too much contradictory information out there about how to actually do that.  Anna has a straight-forward approach, no BS, fairy tales or 'bro-science', just plain facts! I loved training with her for that!  Anna’s knowledge of the human body’s mechanics is phenomenal and she was immediately able to spot my weak areas. With her extensive bank of corrective exercises she soon put me back on the right path. 

What I achieved with Anna’s help was far more than I expected! My overall strength and fitness improved so much in a short space of time that I was able to perform exercises with much better form and less risk of injury. Each workout is tailored to you, so you can achieve exactly what you have discussed. "I've done three rounds of Strength and Conditioning workshops with Anna, and the idea is great - a brilliant complement to personal training or any other fitness plan. Whether your goals are specific to a sport, or just to improve your fitness for everyday life, the workshops can make a huge difference. 

Anna has real vision and insight about how to make the workshops effective. They build from solid foundations by assessing what you need to work on, and Anna gives a clear plan to follow. I saw a difference in my "imbalances" after just a few weeks.

Some workshops are challenging (in my case, plyo) but they all fit together to support your own fitness goals. It is great to have the workshops as a group - to have real peer support as well as Anna's expert eye and guidance. You can really learn a lot from observing others as they practise their deadlift technique.

Overall, I have really enjoyed the workshops and would highly recommend them whatever your fitness goals are."
